One of the more experienced players in the squad, Louis Koen will be the man to lead the Proteas Veterans both on the field, and with the bat in hand.
A prolific run-scorer for the likes of Boland and Eastern Province, he played five ODIs for South Africa - though he will be the first to admit the experience didn’t pan out quite as he would have hoped.
But there is no denying his achievements at provincial level, scoring more than 10 000 runs in 233 First-Class and List A matches with a highest score of 202 not out.
After eight seasons in Port Elizabeth he returned to Boland, captaining them to their first ever domestic trophy when they beat EP in the 1999/2000 Standard Bank Cup final.
