The Veterans Cricket Association of South Africa is sending two teams to the Over-50s Africa Cup in Windhoek, Namibia from the 17-21 November, 2024.
A Proteas Veterans Over-50s team and a South Africa “A” team will participate in the tournament together with Zimbabwe and hosts, Namibia. The 8 match, 45 over tournament will be live streamed on https://oneuptwo.com/ntv and broadcast on NTV and DSTV Channel 285 from 10h00 onwards each day. South Africa’s Proteas Veterans beat Zimbabwe to win the inaugural tournament in Pretoria in 2022.
A 16-member squad will be selected to take part in the 14-nation International Masters Cricket Over-50s World Cup in Colombo, Sri Lanka from the 09-23 February, 2025 after the Africa Cup. South Africa lost to England in the World Cup grand final in Cape Town at the beginning of 2023.
